I’m trying to figure out where to walk out from. How far do most people usually walk at point Anne to get into decent water for walleye? Or if anyone has a better suggestion for a location.

Fishing is subjective and we all fish in different ways and water. Myself, I have walked a few hundred yards and a mile or two. Try to see the structure that will interest your thoughts on the fish. Here is a link to a good mapping site, go to the area that you are interested in. Put the maps into SonarChart view as you zoom in. https://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en#b ... dmGtrz%7BM

I suggest you get the Navionics App on your phone. It is worth it's weight in gold for picking structural elements to fish. It is GPS linked, so you can move around on a body of water and it shows you the contours all around you. You can also go to virtually any lake in the US and many in Canada anytime you want to plan your fishing spots. I was introduced to this app by a guide at BOQ many years ago. Attached is an example of a screen capture for Sherman's Pt on BOQ.

I use mine every time on the ice, it is one of those must-haves for me. The first yr I had it cost $9.00, 2 weeks ago I renewed it at $30.00 plus tax.

I was once told to “find 18-20ft at point Anne you’ll be on fish” at some point of the day
Fish could be anywhere tho. Buddy catches them 12-14ft
I like to get away from crowds

I’m out in 17-18’ right now, nothing but perch so far. Hopefully the evening bite picks up, if anyone is out here with a machine and wants to make 10-20$ want to pull my gear in lol

You’ll likely see something 4:30-5:30 time
Getting them to commit is another story
