Lake O lakers East of Bath How Deep etc.?

I'm thinking of trying for Lakers in the North Channel near Amherstview (because it's handy to my house!).
I would appreciate some advice as to: How deep? , Near bottom or suspended? What lure size, type or color? Jig or dead stick? Any tips would be appreciated.

We fished for lakers a number of years back in January and fished over towards the Amherst Island side and we hit fish in the 25-40 foot levels, using 3 colour lead core and spoons.

If you mean on ice, I've seen people fish out from Fairfield house and Nicholson's Point.

There was a hut a couple of weeks ago off the latter...ice had just formed so must have been the new hover-hut.

Tried both myself without any success though but had luck out from Finkles.

If you get out, would love to hear how you make out.

I too am in the View area.

I was planning on trying for lakers through the ice.

Any where from 40' to 100ft. For lures tubes, cleos, williams ect. and like said on a previous post once you mark them you start reeling. If you stop reeling they stop coming. I usually jig really big jigs and start at least 10-15 ft off bottom. The water is ultra clear and they can see it a mile away. Have your drag set right.

White is always a good colour for lakers.

One of my go-to setups is a big Vibrato (silver) on bottom and a gulp minnow above for a drop-shot presentation.

I've done very well on Loughborough and other back lakes, with this setup.
