Can anyone give me directions to a boat ramp in or near Hay Bay. Also, if anyone knows how far it is by boat from Belleville to the main lake that information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Charles

Charles there are a number of good ramps around Hay bay. There is one deep in the bay [flats area] off the north shore road on cuthill lane. It's about 8km from highway 41 and the flashing yellow light.
There is also one near shermans point about 20km from the flashing light. Just go past Perfect vu resort and the huge farm[kaisers farm]. Turn left on launch ramp rd. to the end.
Last but not least there is the old church ramp on the south shore rd.From highway 41 turn right onto the south shore rd. and right again towards pickerel park and follow along the shoreline about 15km it's on your right side.
I have mentioned the "free" ramps there are also many resorts in the area that have ramps also.
From Belleville to the main lake is a LONG ride. I really am not sure how much distance it is by water maybe 60km. That's a guess. The bass tornaments out of Belleville have participents that come out to the lake but these guys have large high powered boats like the website host[Dan eliot] has.
I hope this helps...larry

I appreciate it very much.

I'm guessing the first one you listed is the closest to the highway 401? I'll be coming from the Toronto area.

Thanks again,
Charles

That's right , depending on your boat/motor size from that ramp you would be about 15 km from the mouth of hay bay and the long reach area. The shermans launch ramp gives you more fexibility with which way you might want to go.....larry

15 km is not a neglible distance by any means, but I'm expecting to put 80-120 miles on the boat during pre-fish. :)

Appreciate the help and precise directions.

Thanks,
Charles

charles,
its about 50 miles to lake ontario if you are heading east from B elleville. On a good day if the water is flat it will take you 45minutes to the ducks area going 68-70 mph. Good luck on your prefish and hopefully you make the podium!

I can only run about 50 so it would be an hour in ideal conditions, but definitely a risk I'm willing to take to get away from the crowds and give myself a shot at those big brown fish.

Thanks very much,
Charles
