Fortunate to get back alive. Almost looks like a canoe.
These two should be made to pay for their rescue as a lesson learned imo.

Regards

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton lifted two stranded boaters from the water near Wellington Beach on Sunday.

The boaters left the shoreline in open water but later became trapped about one kilometre from shore by the moving ice and high winds.

Prince Edward County OPP, Fire and Rescue and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics also responded.

Not sure why anyone would consider going out in winds like that but either way, just happy to have read they were safe and wasn't me in the pic. :-)

It's happened to duck hunters in Collins Bay a few times, hunting the Brothers Islands, when wind unexpectedly changed and blows in ice.

One thing I've noticed more this year than most is you really can't trust weather reports. More often than not, they'll report winds in 1 direction but rarely is and even windguru seems to be off IMO.

I would worry that if people were to be charged the fees for rescues, less people would call for help when needed. However, maybe they wouldn't go out but we're all guilty of doing so in "iffy" weather.

Stay Safe and Play Well.

Cheers

Valid point but I doubt it ever comes in to anyones minds they may need to get rescued and have to pay for it. However if someone did get a bill word would certainly spread. Really not a well thought out plan by these two gents and they are lucky they survived. I truly would like to think in a "life or death"situation the possibility of a bill wouldn't stop you for calling for help
