Caught a tagged walleye from 2018 Kiwanis tournament .... kinda interesting, I wonder how big it was when they released it 4 years ago. Fish was 6.04lbs. Also, does anybody know what the prize money was for catching a tagged fish?

I knew some guys that caught a $1000.00 fish in the derby and DIDN'T have a ticket, they ate the fish.

I caught one 3 years ago 3 weeks after the derby, caught it at Pointe Anne I contacted some one from the Kiwanis they told me it was tagged at Trenton, and received about $100 worth 0f items.

I caught one in 2009, back then Kiwanis had blue tags and a phone number to contact them , my tag was # 19 , contacted people with that number , and was told if I had caught that fish during the tournament in 2008 , tag #19 was the boat and trailer prize !! Fish weighed 12.04 and was released ! Unbelievable day , back then I caught it in telegraph narrows , it was tagged and released in Trenton weighing over 9 pounds I was told . Good to see they are still coming back to our bay or quinte

YoungGun24 boat and trailer is not too shabby....12.04 is a big fish and it put on 3 pounds in just a year?? Pretty incredible

So after a bit of back and forth on facebook they put me in touch with tournament organizer Owen Kinmond. The fish they release for their tournaments are usually 2-3 pounds and this fish was released at big island, $1000 prize...obviously they weren't going to honour that prize but said they had something for me. Turned out Owen and I are both working in Trenton a few blocks apart doing residential construction work and told me to stop by at his job site. Handed me this Rapala Kaos 3500 reel. Very nice, definitely the best reel I own now...just great big thanks to Kiwanis and Owen
