There's still about 600 meters of ice from the Collins Bay launch to the open water

Soooo. I made it out on tuesday for the lakers. Fished from around 10:30-2:30 and caught two between two of us. The first time that I tried for the lakers was last fall and this is my first time trying them in the spring. I did pretty good in the fall so went back to that same area tuesday but only caught one there. So my questions are are they in different areas in the spring vs the fall? Is it a bit too early? Maybe different color spoons? Maybe just an off day.

Although only caught two fish it was still a great day on the lake! A very much needed distraction from all the "stuff"

PS Be aware that there is still debris floating around out there. Some of it big.

take care all

I fish them in the same places Dec to May. They do change depths and I find as the surface temp warms during the day, the fish come up. Don’t be afraid to run baits 10-15 feet down. Just push them far from the boat with boards

Got out this morning for the first time. The wind died overnight and there was actually a thin layer of ice around the west end of Amherst, which made for an interesting commute. Sunny morning with no wind so fishing was easy. Got into some fish at Big Bar. Biggest was 12.5 lbs. A few boats around and we saw some nets out. Surface temp 35.3. Water so clear we could see bottom at 45 ft.
