Did a very brief fish in Big Bay with an old friend who has been having health issues when he suddenly wasnt feeling very well so we returned to the ramp. We were just setting up and saw the occasional net being reach for. Talked with a couple of the boats out there who told me the erie deries were working for them. Basically just out from the cement plant trolling towards the cell tower on big island.

Gave me a good warm felling when I read that you took out your "old friend with health issues". Made me think of my dad who recently passed away. I used to go out of my way to get him out in the boat for a fish. It was a lot of work and planning but he sure appreciated it. 94 years old he was. He used to say it was the "best day ever" even when the guiding wasn't very productive. Us "healthy" blokes take it for granted that we can go for a trip out on the lake without any assistance or pain. I don't regret one day that I gave up to give him that feeling and I am sure you feel the same Dan.
My heart goes out to all of those who do the same.
Hopefully when our time comes there is someone there to do the same for us :D

Sounds like a great trip out! I was there as well, but no luck. Lots of bites, but it seemed to be perch/silver bass stripping my worms.

Glad you managed to get your friend out on the water!

If you noticed a tinny out there back trolling from the Point Anne shoal and down towards Mohawk Bay (Hungary Bay?) that was me!

Sounds like I should have been on Erie Deries, because all I was catching was weeds.

Gap,
Amen!! I hope someone is taking me out when I have health issues. He and I have been fishing together for 30 plus years and as long as he is able and wants to go I will take him. No regrets!
