BRP killed the tried and true Evinrude and bought Alumacraft. They said something big was in the works and here it is.

Personally, I'm not sure why you'd have an outboard powerhead laying in water.

It appears these units are application specific and can't be interchanged with other boats or motors.

I have an older Alumacraft and love it. Be interesting to see how this new offering works out.

 BRP killed the tried and true Evinrude.
Sorry but I just had to laugh

The E-tech motor has a terrible reputation with any bass tournament series

This should be interesting to see how one of Canada's worst managed companies fumble their way through another endeavor.

Now that is one ugly boat. Looks like something Swamp People would drive. You can tie your Alligators to the back platform. BATMAN

"I'm going to grab the popcorn and watch..." - Dan

Wise move, Danny! We agree with you, along with other comments so far.

Nuts. Gotta say something Positive; LOVE the rear Casting Deck!

But, wonder if The Developers fish...

...becuz being unable to reach the Power-head, while 'way out on the Water, would be SCARY!

As is it being so low, imagine popping the Head in rough water... (IF you could even reach it!!!)

And... narrow-ish gunnels... whuttup with THAT?

...hey, maybe we're wrong? Hope so, for Alumacraft's sake. Think the Development Costs!!

Suspect there's gonna be some great deals down the road!

But... wouldja even BUY one then??

Rgds, Wordpecker

At least if you plan on repowering that Alumacraft in the future you will have lots of options.

If the idea/motors fail and production stops... You better look after your original.

Where do you put a kicker ? And no seat base on the rear platform...at my age I need something to park my butt on every once in a while while casting.

Here's a bit more info from Australia.

https://www.marinebusinessnews.com.au/2 ... echnology/

BRP also bought Manitou pontoon boats and Quintrex.

Looks like that rear platform lifts up a bit to service the motor when the boats out of the water. Not sure how you'd clear weeds or change a prop. As pointed out, no place to a kicker or a power pole.

For BRP "transforming the boating experience", there's not many details. You'd think, as they made their official press release on Aug. 7, they'd have all kinds of info out.

A bit of a teaser on the website but skinny on details.
