A buddy from work took me carp fishing on the Trent today . What a blast ! :D :D My arm was sore by 9:00am . I used my light action spinning outfit . The first fish i caught (10 min after we got there) was 15 pounds 8O . What a fight ! 20 mins to get the bad boy on shore using light tackel . Fun,fun fun . We got 12 all together . Smallest was 10 pounds . Largest was 17 pounds . He tells me 30+ is common . I think i'm hooked  . Anybody Know any hot spots on the BoQ for carp. I'm sure i will be back out in the near future .

The Bath power plant always has decent numbers and some very large carp.

was fishing near the dam in frankford a month ago, I saw one that made me yell out "submarine!!!" 4' long and over 1' wide. I haven't seen one like that since I lived in hamilton.

I've never actually caught a carp, but my wife has, she got a 3' carp on a small titanium hook (from a british carp fishing company) and nothing but a can of corn. alot of carp enthusiests make their own doughballs, but it's hit or miss with that, and sometimes it takes a while to come up with a good recipe, try making some with kool aid in it, heard it works well.

I always used doughballs as a kid. My grandmother would actually make it like a thick doughish batter. It could be tough to cast with, but was effective. The trickiest part was ensuring that one was quiet when sitting or approaching.
