Went out Friday morning with my wife down to Waupoos to try to get her some pike. I've had an unusually good September chasing pike boating, 17 pike, 27 pike, and 19 pike over 3 outings.

The morning started off well, my wife caught the first 3 including a 36 1/2 inch beauty, which is a personal best for her.
The bite slowed big time and we only managed 9.
Good thing though was I met Turk while pulling out - so that was a highlight.

Decided to go out Monday evening, unloaded the boat and realized that my tackle box full of musky and pike lures was gone.
My wife and I decided to stop for lunch on the way back Friday and we think it must have been then when we were in the restaurant.

Luckily found a small spoon that I had left loose in the boat. Had another bad outing in terms of numbers but boated 3. One was 36 1/4 inches and another 37 1/2 inch.

Have to remind myself...its all replaceable and there are a lot more serious things going on in the world than missing tackle. Still very blessed to be able to get out fishing.

I like your attitude about the lost fishing stuff. If that's the worst thing that happens to you this month you're still having a pretty good month judging from the photos and your report. Nice catching by the way. You put in the time and you got rewarded! That's awesome! Weather permitting I'm going to try for some pike there myself on the 22nd and 23rd of October. Tight lines!

Hey...I recognize you two !! Great meeting you as well. You're taking it well, but it still saddens me that things like that happen. Just so you know, I've got a few spare "5 of diamonds".

So Update! Plattinum reached out to me and had some good news that his buddy found a box of musky/pike lures down near waupoos and gave me his contact information.

He found them on the side of the road and in the ditch and contacted me and gave them back!

Unbelievable to me in a number of ways. First, that this big box of lures somehow flew out of my boat - but sure enough, they did. They will be now travelling in my vehicle from here on out.

Second, that a guy was decent and honest enough to see the lures, collect and pick them up out a ditch, and reach out to me.
Really great to meet honest people like that.

Glad you got them back! I have lost gear before the same way (one time a downrigger off my boat), and have always somehow managed to get everything back thanks to the great fishing community we have here! We can all only hope that when it happens another honest angler will be the one to find it. Oh ya, nice job on the pike btw!
