I fished a couple areas in the weekend. Petes Point with Turk and big bay. Ice is slowly improving but overall still sketchy as heck. Got 10 fish with the biggest just a hair under 8 lbs. With the beautiful weather there were guys everywhere. I was driving over the bay Bridge and saw an atv on the ice but it wasn't that far off shore and looked like common sense kicked in as they left the machine there and walked. Seriously. Bring your spud and use it. Don't make any assumptions. I bought a livescope unit and all I can say is Im blown away. I use to say I feel like I'm fishing blind when i forgot my flasher but honestly a flasher doesn't even come close to showing you what's going on with the fish.

Great fishing, Dan.

I'm hoping to feel more confident in Quinte ice conditions and get out soon myself.

Cheers

Sounds like you had more success than most this weekend. Do you think the livescope made the difference? Regardless, well done!

I think the livescope most definately helps. The wider beam shows more details and you can tell which direction the fish are moving. You can see them circling the bait and you can see size and the mood they are in. In the pic the grid is 1 ft sq and my bait is centre a few ft off bottom. Look at the school coming at me

Guess we should be thankful about no longer having a real boat... THIS would be 'way too tempting!!

Enjoy it Danny, you deserve it!~
