We have a cottage rented there 24-26 and was just curious if hay bay has ice yet at all. Figure this is the best place to ask. Lots of cold nights it looks like coming up but also a couple mild days. Was just curious more than anything if its iced over yet. Could be good by then if it is. If not we may have to postpone it a couple weeks. Hoping to not have to.

I havent personally been down that way from Belleville so no help with actual conditions but given that many sections are wide open and only a few areas with coverage and most with less than 4 " It might be good to hold off on the road trip .

Yea I have seen that some of the bay is freezing over. I’ll have to see closer too. I’m good with walking and spudding as long as there is safe enough ice for that. Doesn’t have to be thick enough for atv or anything. Fingers crossed we get some ice with cold nights and that day higher temps change lol.

I went for tour this morning and the bay was froze over. I saw a group on the south side opposite the old perfect vue resort out about 150yrds on the ice. Further down towards the quarry there was a couple guys on the south side as well...

Thats what I was hoping. Hopefully it doesnt rain too hard tomorrow and hopefully lots of cold nights before then like it looks now. Could be decent enough ice for walking out hopefully by then.

It is still there. It is being redeveloped into a marina but will be upgrading cabins for summer and winter fishermen. I don't imagine it will be open for this years season.

We have also stayed there in the past. I called last year and they were open in the winter as long as you were vaccinated. There are some air bnbs along there now too. Thats where we rented our cottage off of. Fingers crossed to there being ice Jan 24-26 there haha

Figure I would bump this up to see if anyone was around this area this weekend. I dont need to know details or anything about how the fishing is..more just wondering about the ice. After a few cold nights, if the bay was froze over I would imagine it made a bit more ice. Thanks guys!
