The middle of Hay Bay was wide open 2 days ago with it freezing up last night ( I live on hay bay). The ice has been very poor all year due to high current. The end of Hay bay on the west side of Ram Island to Shermans did have some decent ice and I saw others fishing there 2 days ago (long reach was wide open as well 2 days ago). I fished Tuesday east of Sherman point and there was about 5-6 inches of mixed ice with some soft pots due to temps (all walked out).
