Hello all,

I've started fishing on the bay last summer and I can't get the fish to bite. I was hoping someone could help me out. I've been out 15-20 times so far and the only thing I got is a few tiny perch and a few sheepshead. I usually troll with a double hook harness or a crankbait.

Thanks in advance

Early mornings or dusk. Cast or troll weed lines anywhere. And shorelines....the pickerel come in to feed. You don't have to go deep then.

Can’t go wrong with shad baits like cc shad or flicker shad (size 7) in the spring. Match the size of the bait around. Bigger in the fall, husky jerk 12’s or flicker minnow 11’s.

I start at 1.7 mph on gps for speed. Sometimes slower or faster but that’s the start.

Agreed. Also a yellow, dotted panther martin touched with a small piece of worm is deadly.

If you're interested in learning the Bay you would be wise to book a charter with Scott or some other reputable guide to show you what they target and why
