I apologize in advance if this topic has been discussed, but does anyone still sell ethanol free gas?

The premium at the Tyendiega First Nation's gas stations says ethanol free...according to the sign on the pump. I believe Pioneer is the same...comes from the same independent refinery.

Canadian Tire is the only place that sells it that I know of. It is their top of the line premium.

SHELL Premium is ethanol free in addition to the Canadian Tire Premium (would not surprise me if these are all same gas, due to limited refining facilities).

Have used both in my boats and small engines for decades.

Not so sure about Shell anymore...sticker ar the pump said may contain Ethanol. Everything changed with the new legislation in 2022.

https://www.gtamotorcycle.com/xf/thread ... ee.222179/

Enquiry: Ethanol content in V-Power gasoline
Response:
Good morning, Starting in 2022, all gasoline grades sold in Canada will be blended with ethanol, including premium gasoline (V-Power 91 and 93) according to proposed regulations (10% ethanol Federal Clean Fuel Regulation for 2022, Low Carbon Fuel Requirements and need to reduce the carbon intensity of fossil fuels, which ethanol is one mechanism to reduce carbon intensity).
All the provinces are switching slowly, and If you see the label at the pump, “Gasoline may contain up to 10% Ethanol” is already happening.

Thanks for the update regarding Shell gas. A bit disappointed over the diminishing access to ethanol free gas, especially for use in marine and small engines. Time to buy more K-100!

I use premium gas for all my small engines including my 40hp Yamaha outboard, but to be safe I always add some seaform.

Premium gas does not mean no ethanol. Go to their web sites. Shell, Pioneer, Esso, Petro Canada, all their premium gas contains 5%-10% ethanol. Unless it says no ethanol on the pump it has it. Canadian Tire as far as I know is the only one that their web site says their premium has no ethanol and it is posted on the pump.

Canadian Tire premium gas also has ethanol. Email from corporate:

Good Morning,

My name is Cassandra and I have been assigned your case file regarding if ethanol is now in our premium fuel.

New government regulations intended to reduce carbon emissions from mogas across Canada are now being rolled out. This regulation includes a 10% ethanol component in regular and premium gasoline. Canadian Tire fuel suppliers are now mixing up to 10% ethanol in both regular and premium gasoline to meet those requirements.

Ontario and other provinces across Canada are now implementing this initiative and Canadian Tire will comply with those regulations.

Sincerely,

Cassandra Paxton
