Fished by Rams island heading towards Sherman's point for 5 trips out. Most of the time only fished for 2 or 3 hours. In those 5 trips, my partner and I caught 60 walleye. We limited out each time, with only about 30 perch in between. Best open season we ever encountered. No females caught.

You realize the possession limit for walleye is 4.... whether they are in your live well or freezer at home. 2 people "limiting out" in 5 trips equals 40 walleye. You must eat a lot of fish.

Just try to understand the fish possession limit. For sport license, we allow to have 4 walleyes. Does it count by the trip/day/possession of the time?

You can catch a lot of fish with only keeping three in the livewell, catch & release

Page 10 paragraph 5 MNRF REGS:
Total in possession allowed for the angler in transit, storage, refrigerator or frypan.

Here is the copied paragraph

The possession limit is the number of fish you are
allowed to have in your possession on hand, in
cold storage, in transit, or anywhere. Possession
limits are the same as one day’s catch limit
except where otherwise specified. If you catch a
fish after reaching the daily catch or possession
limit for that species, the fish must be released
immediately. If the limit is zero, anglers may
practice catch and release only, and any fish
caught must be released immediately.

I just read the 2023 fishing regulations. The regulations were updated to to allow for a full limit of Bass, Walleye and or pike to be kept as long as you have a Live-well to keep fish heathy. You can then cull smaller fish for larger fish caught. If a fish in a live-well dies, it must be kept as part of your daily possession. This updated rule allows for culling during tournaments or ain a derby. This culling is allowed outside of tournaments or a derby. BATMAN

Awesome! Heading there the first week of June. Any advice on tackle? Spinners? harnesses? Stick baits?

Check the water temp, that should direct to the right baits
