My brother and I launched out of HJ Mcfarland and made our way to Hay Bay late Sunday afternoon. I haven't spent much time at all in Hay Bay looking for walleye so we thought we would start at Ram's Island and make our way towards Shermans Point dragging worms (seems to be a popular route!). Lots of small perch and a few silver bass but not much else, although that was to be expected as we were pretty early for the evening bite. We decided to stick close to the shoreline at dusk and cast small crank baits (scatter-rap shads and fat-raps) and that seemed to be the ticket for us. Along with a couple small ones, we had 4 more within the span of 15 minutes just after 9pm casting towards shore on the north side, all 18"-23". Hoping to get out a few more times to try other spots/techniques as the season progresses
