Quinte Fishing

Hey all looking to try something new with the kiddos this summer.
I know we have some great cat fishing in quinte as the one and only cat I have ever caught was just shy of 20lbs!
That said I have never targeted them and am unsure where to start.
My understanding is to try the deeper pools below rapids or falls in any of our major rivers (moira, trent, salmon etc) with cut bait but beyond that I ha e no clue on spots!
Any help is appreciated we hope to get out sunday evening:)

I have caught them in the deep trough out front of Massassauga conservation area its also a bottle neck area so always a bit of current there

Yes, that area is not bad along with the channel at Pete's Point, I know more than the odd 5+ pounders have come from there. 18" to 24'' of 8-12# vanish or similar through a slip wgt and circle hook works wunders with a touch of bait.
