Well boys and girls, the word is out from Brighton about the Mute Swans and their impact on Quinte.

They are an invasive species and sometime, someone will have to deal their results.

The good folks in Brighton has seen the way of the future.

They are beautiful but wow, have their population exploded.

If you drive across the new 3rd crossing, they're everywhere.

I can remember back some 15-18 yrs ago when there was a single pair in the Napanee that you could spot from the road, stuck out like crazy.

Hay Bay at the east end flats is covered and McCabe Bay has about 25 pairs.

They are amazing birds.
I definitely noticed that the Swans keep the Canadian Geese away.
2 swans or 2 dozen geese... humm tough choice

They have been over fed for years during winter months by the people that live along Barcoven road. The easier they find food the more they will reproduce. It was nothing to see a 1000 or more swans and geese all bunched up in the channel from Weller's Bay to lake Ontario.
