The Walleye wanted that high tail wobble and color didn't seem to matter.

Bingo!

I still think colour is over rated, depth, speed and action would be my pick before colour

I have had good luck with the lhur Jensen 3/4 power dive minnow. With the company just bought out you better stock up as they may start to disappear.

you folks should try using some T-60 Flatfish:
great colour schemes and high tail wobble
gets down 25 - 30 feet also :o

They do work great...but I like to use them at a slow troll just like worm harnesses for enticing neutral fish. The Deep Tail Dancer will move along at 1.5-3mph with no problems

Char Finder...What speed do you usually run the T-60 at when trolling?

cheers'

we vary the speeds and try to zig-zag as much as possible. speeds up to 3 mph are no problem. just watch that you spread the lines out.

i've got about 40 of the T-60's from our trip to Great Bear Lake this past summer. as luck would have it, i brought every colour with me but ended up only using 1 colour for the whole trip - a Dr. D look-alike! we were fishing for big lake trout although. One of the guys from Montana with us claimed he uses them for walleye all the time on a spread - so it should work for the BOQ as well!

give it a try, i am one to try different things. i also like the bigger presentation. these fish from the lake are use to eating big minnows 6 - 8" so don't worry about the size. colour and movement are more important right now.

I would also add that it is important to TUNE your baits. they don't all run the same out of the box!
