I've been fishing Picton harbour late friday night (saturday morning) with no success, not even a bite. :(
But noticed a very sad picture  - about 20-25 dead walleyes lie on a bottom among the weeds at Picton Bay marina's deck near the parking lot.
What is the reason of this die off?
Is it a poison spill from the city?
Any info would be appreciated.

Haven't seen it but, I should think a call to the local MNR office might be in order there s3quoia. AT least make them aware of the situation.

The fish you seen, were they filleted. I know behind Tip of the Bay motel I seen fish on the bottom filleted near the dock. If they weren't it could be a concern  . What a shame

The walleyes I saw have not been filleted. The scene reminded me a stream with salmon carcasses all around the place. I had a pretty small flashlight and couldn't see deeper, but I have a strong feeling that there is more dead fish.

you SURE they weren't salmon?

we were casting there friday night, and saw at least a dozen dead salmon carcuses....but saw no dead pickerel.

we were the two guys in the survival suits casting deep in the bay, basically across from Tip's parking lot.

we had the big beam spot light looking for anything we could see....saw 1 walleye, salmon (1, still living), three or four brown trout (healthy as ever), and a couple suckers.

We were there (tip of the bay) for the weekend and did see a number of dead salmon. So that was hamilton steve with the spotlight in the back of the bay. Trying to figure out what the hell you were doing. We're the guys in the blue Lowe. Managed 3 for 3 1- 10lbs and 2-8's.
