Tried for walleye just south of Desoronto last Thursday, where there is a 45 foot hole. We marked 4 waypoints on the GPS making a square around the hole, then we dropped a marker on the wind side and slowly drifted. Once we where at the end of the hole we would motor back to the marker move over ten feet and do it again. We did this until it looked like a grid on our GPS.
We tried jig and plastic combos and bell sinkers with a 2 foot leader to crankbaits but no luck.
We only did this for about 1.5 hours until we got bored and moved back to pike fishing.
Landed a good pike in the Belleville harbour on Sat.
