Hi folks!

Today was my last day on the BOQ. We went to Picton Bay first, to discover that it was ALL frozen. Too bad. We then went to the Glenora Ferry ramp... ALL frozen. Hum. Not good.

Further on the bay, past the ferry toward Lake Ontario, we were able to see some open water and... hey, a boat was there!!!! Good news guys!! We drove toward Kingston until we found a camping with a ramp giving access to the open water. There was 3 trailers there. YEEESSSSS!

We spent the day on the bay but didn't catch anything. There was no wind at all. A BEAUTIFUL day. Really.

When we came back at 15h30 we met 3 other boats. They all catched walleyes. One, three, and six each.

We were told that with water that cold (2.1 degree celcius) we have to use slow moving crankbaits. The successfull fishermen today were using Reef Runner's. Too bad for us. The 4 Mann's Dr Death I had in the water all day on planner boards were not the choice of the day. I'll remember that next year if I fish again that late.

I really think that today was the LAST day of fishing in open water for most of us. All the bay will be all frozen before the weekend for sure...

Anyway. We had a rally nice day on the water, with the sun shinning. Lots of good "souvenirs" for the winter...

Happy holidays to all folks! See you again next year!!!!

Brrrrrrrr.....

Did you launch at Adolphustown Park?

What about that Pringer ramp place on the south side down near the Bat Cave?

Our boat is sitting in the parking lot at the Tip of the Bay. Is this "it" for the season, do you think? Will there be anyplace we can launch on Saturday? Or do we just have to pick up the boat and trailer it home??

Cheers,

Pete

I think that Adolphustown Park was the name of the place we went yesterday. Not 100% sure but I think so.

There was 70 feets of ice from the shore to the open water at the end of the day. We had a canal of broken ice to reach the open water but after last night it's probably be all stuck together now.

I have no idea about the BATCAVE... I didn't know there was a ramp in that area. Thanks for the info. Anyone know if this ramp is still useable??

batcave and bath are both open as of today.

sounds like glenora and adolphustown are out. if the winds blow right, it'll clear mcfarlane park launch.
