Quinte Fishing

Went out off Big Island today. There was a scant 3" of ice and 6" of slush toped with 3" of snow . Made for tough walking.I caught a little 2.5 pounder . Just enough for super . Sure was tasty . Saw one other little guy on the ice . Good way to start the hard water season . By the way slug it was on a green champ .

Nice report. I was passing through interested in the ice conditions and caught your post. I think I'll wait some, I hate that slush.

I was lucky enough to drill a few holes Fri. afternoon on a small lake north of Bancroft. I wasn't much interested in crossing the wet slushy spots, so made the best of it where I felt safe. There was a min. of 5" good clear ice and the slush was hard.

It was awesome to get out!! Take care on the ice

Heard on the radio today an ice breaker is coming from Glenora to Belleville harbour tomorrow.
