I have just picked up a set of Church Walleye planner boards. I already have two sets of the offshore tackle planner boards. Before I go tampering with my walleye board i was wondering if anyone had any input on the pros and cons of each. Which one will run a dipsey better? Any help would be great. thanks
Jess

Jesse,
I tried the church board this fall for the first time and basically wasted my money. The church board didnt track well in the water. I bought the upgrade kit that is suppose to turn the boatd over flat when you have a fish on but it didnt work either. Theres a reason you see so many guys pulling offshore. They are just plain better.

jessie i to have tried to run the church board's they don't run any where near as well as offshore boards and i couldn't run the two different brands at the same time kept getting tangled in each other i run 6 to 8 offshores regularly at one time with very little trouble from what i saw the offshores are far superior and are the most popular of the two maybee there is a diffent aproach to running the church boards that i am not aware off MARK MARTIN is the pro who helped desighn them and he is a very qualifed respected pro

Been using the Church boards for 9 years. Got 5 sets. They work better with heavy snap weights and leadcore for me. If you want to get the best performance out of the Church boards silde the weight on the bottom all the way forward and do not use the opional flag or lay down systems. I don't know of any inline board that will handle Dipseys, other than the smallest size. If you are useing smaller lures, or spinners the Offshore boards do a nice job with the tattle tale flag for small fish or weeds. One suggestion, while learning to read the board run 2 on a side, so you can see the difference when a fish or weed is on your lure. Good luck.

I have not tun the Church boards but have used their releases on Offshore boards. They do work well( Church (metal) release. The plastic work ok too but the metal work better for braided line.

For those new to inline boards the Church releases are much easier to use.
Once again personal preference is the determining factor.

As far as dipseys with the inline boards I would not suggest it. Although Steve H ran 4oz musky baits with the Offshore boards I still find that they will track more behind a boat than to the side of the boat.
