Perhaps this guy wasn't intent on winning a fishing derby, but he'll have time to reflect on his 'Fishing activities'

Reported in the Ottawa Citizen:

$6,000 fine for caging walleye

Neil Sandilands, 40, of Williamstown, has been fined $6,000 and banned from fishing for a year after being caught caging walleye during spawning. He pleaded guilty last week after he and another man were found in April with nine walleye in a cage. Seven male and two female walleyes were seized. On Jan. 24, Cornwall Justice of the Peace Basil Marchand fined Mr. Sandilands $3,000 for illegal possession of fish and $1,500 for fishing without a licence. He also must pay $1,500 to the Raisin Regional Conservation Authority for walleye rehabilitation and research. The second man is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court Feb. 21 on similar charges. Kemptville district of Ontario's Ministry of Natural Resources said walleye travel from Lake St. Francis to the MacIntyre Rapids and Martintown dam area to spawn.

There are many suggestions for this chap to further his punishment, like 30 days in the Raisin River in April and some others......

If he were an Indian, that sort of behaviour wouldn't be illegal.
