Had the opportunity to hit the water yesterday for the first time this year and had decent day. Trolled between 7-11a.m. primarily on big bay with downers set 20-25 ft. Redfins seemed to be the order of the day. Plenty of marks on the screen to keep you entertained, with 6 landed by 1030. Largest 10.6 with large lampreyscar. Should be a good season.

Stickman i too was out on haloween. Myself and the 5 other boats in the area of Thompson's point had no success by 11:30 a.m.
I tried flat lining, downriggers with red fins but no takers for anyone. There were many fish in the 48 degree water......Next time!...larry

What colours were they hitting on and what size of bait were you working??

Stickman,
Thanks for the great report. At that depth it seems you must of been banging bottom occassionally. Lots of water in Big Bay area. Could you narrow it down abit? Do you know what speed you were trolling and did you notice any color preference??

Hi guys! Then color of choice for me time and time again is the perch pattern. We seemed to be marking most of our fish in 39-45 foot depths with very little any where else. I did notice fish deeper than I thought they might be, however i didn't have a thermometer to gauge temp. One of our fish actually hit a flat line rigged deep diving bomber with a 3/8 keel sinker weight 5ft. ahead of it (long lead to get it down). I hope that helps. So long from Kingston.

P.s. I saw the car and trailer of a guy who runs a guide service calledQuinte Guide Service over at the Adolphustown launch. I did not see him out all morning and just wondered where he was fishing because he was on the water after us and he didn't pass our boat. Iwas sure he had to be fishing Adolphus reach.

Was also the water the 30th and 31st with a bud from Winnipeg. No Walleye taken.......Did take a 8.5 lb Drum and a 5 lb Catfish. Worked Big Bay area, Cement pant and up into Long Reach as far as Shermans. Water rough yesterday. Marked lots of fish (not much high in the water column) and baitfish on Thursday, not so much yesterday. We were flatlining.

Hey Stickman, glad to see someone leaving reports. Looks like a decent catch. Are the bait fish around much yet? I know some nights you could almost walk across the water on them.
