If your into perch’in and pike’in. You walleye guys..... its like walleye or nothing

Morning

Well I got out this morning to my usually spot in front of my folks, to try and hook into some jumbos. I fished from 7:30 – 9:30 managed 20 perch mostly in the 7-8 inch range, from the first hole I popped. Drilled one more a 100 feet away and landed a 11incher which weigh half a pound , after that things shut down and I got hungry so I walked back to my folks….which is only 500 feet away  .

Evening

Fished from 4:00pm - 6:00pm, only managed 10 perch in the 7-8 range.

The smallest Jigging Rap and white micro tubes is all I was using. The ice was 10 inches (measured), where I was, and the depth was 10 feet.

I will be here the whole week, harassing the perch.

Cheers

Aron[/b]

........... am i wrong in believing that the bay of quiente is a fish sancuary and is now closes from all fishing from march 1st, until may first when walleye reopens?. except for the natives who do not have to follow that rule in witch case you must have a band card? . someome please correct me if im wrong but checking the MNR guide i seem to read it that way . Bay of quiente out to adolphs reach is closed til MAY 1

Bay of Quinte falls under Division 8

Perch
open all-season

Pike
Jan. 1 to Mar. 31 &
1st Sat. in May to Dec. 31

The only exception I see, which is close to where I’m fishing is in April:
Moira River and Bay of Quinte - from the Lott Dam downstream, including Belleville Harbour 8 Fish sanctuary - no fishing from Apr. 1 - Fri. before 1st Sat. in May. in the Bay of Quinte.

I phoned the MNR last season because I wanted to fish for perch in the spring and wanted clarification on what is Belleville harbour, and they stated it from the moria river out to the end of Zwicks Park.

What page is the info your reading on?

I'm going to phone the MNR tomorrow to double check.

Aron

Yes, pike and perch are open right now. I phoned the Tweed MNR office.

Tweed
Postal Bag 70
Old Troy Road
K0K 3J0
(613) 478-2330

Went out this morning from 8-10, only managed 5 small perch, on micro tubes. I only drilled two holes, should have done more to locate them, but I got lazy after dragging my Frabill XLtwin about a km out, also the hut was so cozy I didn't want to move. 8)

I know live bait would produce better results, but I try to stick it out with artificial as long as I can.

Let me know how you do.

Cheers

Aron.
