RE: Walleye 2002 - Napanee

Could someone tell me what is going on this year with Walleye 2002 in Napanee. Is it going to be the first weekend in May?

This should be the 20th annual year for this tournament and I always thought it was the best event of the year.

In addition, I heard something about a second tournament called the Napanee Fishing festival. Does anyone know when this will be held?

The Walleye 2002 will be held on May 3rd to 5th and there will be weigh stations in Napanee and Deseronto. Personnally the winning fish will be caught on Bay of Quinte so Deseronto is where you want to be.

The Napanee Fishing festival is a separate event but if you by a ticket for one it also includes the other. Napanee & District rod and Gun Club running both events. It will be held on May 19th and 20th. So it looks like there will be two events this year.

I believe there is also to be a weigh station at the park in Northport, west of Foster's Fishing Centre for the Walleye 2002 tournament, complete with a BBQ set up by the Fire Department.

Walleye 2002 is definately the best tournament of the year and this year I understand we are getting two for the price of one.

Hope to see you guys down in Deseronto this year. I did not attend last year since there was a problem of a personal nature. But I will be down this year.
