Was out to fish with a old friend and Quintefishing.com Discussion Board poster visiting from BC - Don Stokes & I were able to co-ordinate our schedules for a morning of walleye fishing.

Headed out over to the Pumphouse (Pig Farm) and began trolling towards the the weedbed by the Old Church Launch ramp. Us and six other boats all plying the weed lines. Trolled for an hour or so, never saw a net over the side and one by one the other boats pulled out.

Had a visit from the Conservation Officers in their shiny - Twin 200HP Honda boat. Checked our licenses and had a chat about the fishing.

Glad to see them out on the water.

Decided to head over to Thompsons cove to see what we could see and catch. On the first pass, I had a strike and lost it - Darn.

Kept trolling and hit a fish, then another - Ok Don, change the colour of your lure from the Orange to the Chartruese.

We fished that area from 1030 til 1345 and here's the story: Don and I landed 10 walleyes and lost two - Biggest was 21" and smallest was 13"

All the fish caught on the Uzick Spinner with a little piece of worm and a plastic tail. The other boats in the area weren't doing as well, they were fishing a lot deeper water. We were IN the weeds.

What a day of fishing for the pair of us. Don was happy to be back on the waters of the BoQ, things are little different in BC.

He was telling me that SM Bass are entering some waters in BC and they aren't being rec'd very well, Lots of talk on the discussion boards out there.

The reports from the other fishers were that everyone was getting fish, there was a 6.5 lber taken Firday night near Ram Is and another 6.5 lber taken over by the pumphouse on Saturday AM.

Everyone else is getting fish on spinners and worm, silver, chartruse orange - they're all working well.

It's been a GREAT month so far- everyone agrees the fishing has been SUPER.

We had a great day on the water and will be back sometime next week.

Stay Tuned.
