Late report from last weekend (july 7/8/9).

Fished mainly from Sherman's boat launch to the weed bed out front of the perfect vu.
No strikes after about 2 hours. Finally, after the second hour, a huge sheephead/catfish hammered my line. My 8lb XT was flying off the reel. Several boats were around me commenting on the great fights of the sheep/cat fish.....I agreed.

Once I saw the flash from below I almost had a heartattack (although I'm only 29yrs old). A 10+ lb walleye in early july in 19 ft of water. I landed it took some pictures and set the big fella free. Made my day/night/weekend all in one. I have caught a fat female but never a monster, longer/skinnier male like that....Wow

Lots of pike and bass and a few smaller walleye were landed

I have pictures of the monster but do not know how to post?

Dave

Great for the report for the monster eye.

They're there, just have to entice one to take.

I've heard of three 6.5 lbers taken recently, two near Ram Is and one near that weedbed you were fishing to.

We'll be trying again soon.

The words 8lb never came out of this mouth to you sir. I believe I did say it to the other boats that were around when I caught the fish and they said...... "10+ for sure",
I cautiously agreed with them.
You can take that quote to the bank sonny boy.
I'll catch another on the August 12th weekend for us to eat. My boat your cottage. Team Big Heads should be the name

Picutre Attachments are not working (I don't think). Sorry.
