Man what a great day until the winds kicked up LOL!
I decided to troll the wind blown side of Adolphus Reach Saturday morning thinking that the wind would blow the bait to that side and kinda like to stay away from the crowds.
I was marking lots of fish between 20 and 40 foot depths. No takers until about noon. Then I caught a big drum.
Man he got my heart going LOL! I thought I had a huge walleye on until I saw it. Was nice to finally see my home made tattle flags on my boards work
After releasing the drum I set up again. Maybe 20 minutes later I got a real nice 30" fish. I didn't get a girth but she was very thick.
I put her in the livewell for a picture it's easier when you by yourself fighting the wind LOL!
This doesn't do her any justice she's the fattest walleye I ever caught.
No sooner did I finish releasing her and setting up one of my rods. I was setting up my other rod and a I had a board go off again.. I thinking NO WAY!
It was nice 29" walleye! NICE! Sadly she came up to quick and her airbladder was in her mouth
I hate when that happens. So this one didn't go back.
This one fought so hard I didn't know it was walleye until I saw it.
I've never had a walleye pull line like that before. As soon as I got the board off. It came darting straight up to the surface then took 3 good line ripping runs. I thought I had a small salmon or something LOL!
Then the winds kicked up and I worked my way back to the launch. Being by myself I didn't want to take any chances. Man! I hope nobody went out on Sunday the winds were brutal.
I burned a full tank of gas to get home on Sunday. It never takes me more than 1/2 tank at the most
I left Kingston with a full tank and by the time I hit Coburg I was below half. CRAZY!
Oh and the black cloud is still with me LOL! As I was pulling my boat out. My tranny started slipping. I though for sure I was going in the drink. I would get her up 3 feet then it would start slipping and I'd roll backwards.
Brakes then try again. I'd make up another 3 feet and it would slip again. It did this 3 times before I got off the ramp
Time for a new truck I guess. This thing has soaked up it's last dollar. Say good by Jeep! ARGH!
Anyways, I hope everybody got back safe this weekend it was a rough one!
