First Time Fall Fishing

Hey Guys, me and my buddy are heading down Saturday for our first fall fishing trip to Quinte. I would like to get my first double digit walleye. Any help as to where they are biting and what they are biting on would be great. Unfortunately we dont have planner boards but we do have one portable downrigger. We will be out from 10am till dark and probably just flatline trolling. Is there places where we can just cast crankbaits or are they to deep? Any help would be great as we are very excited to get our first double digit walleye.

From the sounds of the fish being caught, east of the ferry appears to be the ticket.

People are getting fish off board, riggers and flatling.

Purple has been suggested as a positive colour.

Watch for the boat traffic and go for it.

Lotsa luck looking for double digits

Most of the fish are being caught in the 40'-60' range....so you could be hard pressed catching anything if you can't get you baits down that deep. Things have changed

Most of the fish we marked were up high, but they were all over the water column. We were running deep divers 65 ft back. You don,t need to go that deep.

We were catching them with taildancers that dive to 30ft. We caught nothing on the downriggers.Do yourself a favor in order to make the fishing trip worthwhile and buy some small offshore planer boards. They are 30-35 dollars each but they do make a difference. Boats spook Walleyes.Use a downrigger rod with them if you have to.Hope this helps. I would show you pics of the fish we caught last weekend but for some reason it isn't working for me.
