Hey all.
I've been reading the posts for a while now and thought I'd throw one on the board. I've never tried for the fall walleye in the BOQ before even though I grew up in the Deseronto area. We would always quite late sept and then start again when the ice was in.
This year my cousin bought a boat and we thought we'd give it a try. First outting was from the Picton harbour either Oct 21 or 28...can't remember. High winds and no fish. We fished around the cement plant and towards Sherman's and Thompson point. We didn't get discouraged though. After reading some posts we thought we'd try under the Bay Bridge. First night we "caught" a walleye over 5lbs. It was actually on a broken off bottom bouncer rig that came up my cousins snagged line. Didn't have a camera that night so just released it.
Next night we got 8 walleye. All on jigs. I was lucky enough to catch 5 of them
I've posted some of the pics below. I know the times are very close but we never noticed the time wasn't set on the digi camera. I released all of mine plus 1 of the others. Two of the fish were under 3lbs so we kept them for eating. It had been a long time since I had fresh walleye. Damn they were good.
Third night we got 4 more. Two released and 2 kept for eating.
After that night the fish shut down. The winds had died off and we had to go looking for them. We found them stacked up on a flat but couldn't get anything to bite. We tried two nights but they didn't want anything we showed them. Very frustrating. Hopefully with the winds picking up again they'll move back up to feed again in that area.
Anyways...here are some of the pics.
I enjoy reading about everyones outings.

this was my biggest so far this year. Over 8lbs. I can't remember what my personal best is but I'm aiming for double digits. My brother got a 14lb'er through the ice a few years back so I'd love to match or beat it.

this is from the third night. We got the camera date/time set properly this time.

Hope everything shows up fine.
cheers

Hi Wiggler,

Nice pics and great job catching the walleyes.

This weather is definitely walleye weather and enjoy it until the ice fishing season begins.

Best regards,
Sam
