Quinte Fishing

Hit the water around 3ish. Scouted out the fish and they were stacked up on the flats again today. Huge amounts of fish schooling in the area. OR piles of bait fish with big arcs all around them.
We didn't get many fish in the boat because I think we were moving a bit fast(waiting on a speed sensor for the new fish finder). We'd troll right through the school and get short strikes or hit the fish with our baits. Caught one (4.7lbs) on a Berkley Frenzy minnow in perch colour. Another on a firetiger thunderstick (2.5lbs)and one on a jig and minnow(under 2lbs).
We saw some fish caught off shore in the area.
This week is looking quite warm. Think this will warm the water and put the fish on the feed or will it be a hindrance?

Neil reported in his other post that the surface water temperature is 44F. In our experience, you really don't begin to catch a lot of fish until it dips below 45F, and most emphatically the best fishing is when surface temps are in the 30's, right down to freezing. Best damn fishing I've ever had is when the temps are like 33-34F.

The best is yet to come, for sure. The fall fishing season has only just begun. Don't even think about putting away your boats yet!
