........ Ok fished picton harbor last night, 4 hours of non stop casting, every lure range, and nothing.......... few taps but im thinking it was them huge shads in there....last wensday i cought one about 10 inches long........ water was calm, lots of surface minnows, and only a few people fishing,,,,,,,,, i started at 5;30pm and left at 9;30 . cold and clear, with a full moon, and no wind to speak of.
I did manage to catch a flippin seagull on a husky jerk.......... good god........... on the brite side he let me reel him in and get my lure back without a single bite, and he happily flew away. i never saw it in the night sky, but i knew something wasnt right when my reel never stopped and my lure never hit the water!
I guess ill give it another try tonight but this time ill go from 9 til midnight........ maybe just maybe my luck will change! dont know about the rest of you guys, but at this point i guess id just as soon the water froze so we can all get out on some nice hard water soon......... happy fishing guys, save some fish for me. ill be back in a few weeks!

LOL I had that happen with a cotton cordell crank this year, seagull grabbed it, he dropped it though, kept harrassing me to the point I had to either switch lures or leave the spot, this was at meyer's pier

Hey, it was better than working.

Dude! The best fishing will be just before the ice comes in. You can really kill 'em. Keep hoping for mild weather to hang in there, and a late freeze-up. With any luck we can fish from boats in early January, and man - that's when the fishing can get really hot!
