Quinte Fishing

I'm planning on shore fishing in picton harbor in the next few days. has there been any successful lures or do people jig with livebait? And what are the best times to fish the harbor?

I met a couple guys on the dock Wednesday night and they were thrilled to have caught a nice 10-pounder. It used to be a great fishing spot, but the fish are not so numerous any more.

The Picton Special lure is a jointed Fastrac - kind of chartreusey-yellow in colour with pinky-purple diamonds on it. You can find it at most Crappy Tire stores.

I would also try casting large non-deep-diving Husky Jerks like the clown and the fire tiger. Also Smithwick Rogues.

Good luck, be sure to post. The favourite spot is the dock by the boat ramp, but I would definitely try the narrows on the north side. Park at the yacht club and walk down to the wood docks.
