I'M THINKING ABOUT SWITCHING LINE THIS YEAR. I had a bad year last year (with breakoffs !!!) and I'm going to make a switch.

Hey Steve, how is that stuff casting with on a spinning reel? I mean repetetive casting. I encountered several problems casting PP and am looking for a new line for casting purposes.

I spooled one of my spinning outfits with Spiderwire braid this year. So far so good but am worried about ice fishing with it. While out last sat (-2) my line was freezing at the spool which made it difficult to get my line out. Anyone else have this issue?
Does the coating on the power pro keep this from hapening? I know mono isn't that bad at that temp.

I use nothing but Tuff-line and have been using it for about 4 years now and in my personal opinion it is the best on the market.

Don't have much experience ice fishing, but I have heard Iron Silk is pretty good to use. I have used PP in cold weather and found it ices up pretty easily. Should I get a chance to ice fish this year, I may give Fins Evolution a try.

It was interesting to see the regional variance in market preference, and I cannot say I am surprised to still see Powerpro on the Ontario forefront. In BC, it seems like Tuffline is the king, with Alberta having a Powerpro/Spiderline split. For real heavy stuff like sturgeon and halibut 100+ pds seems like the norm. Flyfishers use braid on a fairly common note (as tippet material) amongst avids, with some smaller names being the players. Just a note.
