Spent the last two nights at Hay Bay and everything is LOOKING GOOD.

The water is up ( maybe a couple of feet), The fish are there spawning(didn't see any off the docks but have been assured they're up all the little creeks)

Today - Tuesday was glorious day - 28 C (82F) but like a true BOQ high pressure system, the wind blew a TON out of the west, big whitecaps rolling past Bayview Resort.

Hay Bay Larry and I worked the bugs out of the graph electronics on my boat and all the other switches are working. Test out the boat next week in the North Channel(may have to take a trolling rod and some lures for a Rainbow or Brown) :D

18 Days to go. See everyone on the water on May 4th.

Tight Lines

This year will be my fist trip for opening weekend.
Plan to launch in Picton and fish the area up to the Reach.

Any tips for opening weekend? Seems that most large eyes are caught trolling? Are they trolling Deep? Or over shallow Shoals?

I'll be fishing in the big(read Deep) waters down towards the Glenora ferry. Trooling baits WELL back from the boat but NOT too deep.

FYI

Superdad...
Thanks for the tip, that is what I thought after looking at the hydrographic charts for the BQ, Picton area looks like open water trolling for eyes heading back out to Lake Ontario.
