This may seem stupid and I know I can call Cogeco support to ask but I'm too damn tired of talking to support lines lately. :x And they don't always give you the correct information

Sooo, does anyone use Cogeco digital for their tv in the Kingston area (location does matter I hear) and have a package with a fishing network?

I've checked on-line and according to them, I don't have digital service in my area....oddly, I pay for it :?

Cheers,

Paul

Paul, buy expressvu. WFN is awsome also WildTV is good they have some good ice fishing shows on it. I just watched a good walleye one last night. Good luck with cable.

I ranted and raved last fall at the Cogeco booth about the crappy service on their Free viewing of WFN and they have one episode that hasn't worked since Sept 2006.

I finally got a reply from the head of sales at Cogoco Cat Centre bureau.

She said: " Cogeco were making upgrades at their Kingston facility and they won't be offering the WFN until the fall of 2007"

Hope Rogers buys em out and maybe we can get something done on WFN for Kingston.

Til then we haven't a chance unless you go with the satelites.

I have been calling Cogeco on a monthly basis and they finally told me the same info as SuperDad that maybe be the fall of 2007. What has happened is that they do not have any room on their network in this area and upgrading means that when they drop someone they will place WFN in their slot. Sounds like the best idea I have heard so far is to go to ExpressVu.

Regards,
Sam

Do not buy a Starchoice dish since they don't carry the WFN and probably won't for a long while. Every one of my inquires about it being offered have been met by replies of "Were negotiating right now" to "we don't plan on offering this particular channel anytime soon". I would go with the ExpressVu.

Not only am I an ExpressVu customer but I am a Bell ExpressVu Technician. After getting service from Cogeco and not having all the channels you can get from ExpressVu(and paying more per month), I would reccommend that all outdoorsmen should have ExpressVu simply because its the best on the market and the only one to carry WFN, and WILDTV together in a theme pack. FREE INSTALLATION BY THE WAY. Look forward to doing some of your installations. MAKE THE SWITCH!

Thanks everyone.

This is the best forum and people that visit, hands down. :D

I'll look into changing if that's what it takes. I really want this channel.

Cheers,

Paul

Guys,

I agree, WFN on Express Vu is great. Drives my wife crazy though. Every time she turns the tv on its on WFN or WILDTV.

Someday WFN will be on HD. Most shows on WFN and WILDTV are older and look pretty bad on my HD TV. They look great on my old 33" Panasonic though.

I got rid of Kingston Cable. No more ghosting and static problems.
I have not lost satellite signal in 4 months use.

Later I ended up using another company and hooked up Cable to my computer. 6 times the speed of DSL. Kingston has some issues with getting promised speeds on DSL.

Everyone should say goodbye to COGECO.
