Got out on the ice a little before 9AM on Saturday morning after stopping in at Skevy's for some minnow and advice. Great mornning winds were not very strong and was not too cold. Caught a couple perch in the morning. Just after noon I hooked into my first ever BOQ walleye. Beautiful fish about 4 or 5 pounds(not sure)and I almost lost it at the hole. The line broke at the hole and I had to reach my arm in the hole to get him. Well worth the soaked arm. He is dinner tonight and I'm sure it is gonna tast good with a few perch on the side as well. Best day of the year so far for me. Lots of people out all over the place. I was on a good foot of ice about 200 yards west of the red buoy. Winds got stronger as the day progressed and I left the ice around 5. No more wallaye in the afternoon just some more fat jumbo perch. Hope all others out there had a good day as well.
Pic may follow.
