I'll take the chance that I'll get knocked again, but thought I'd provide a last report from the Wisconsin boys who finished out their week of fishing tonight (Thursday). The three remaining (2 left earlier in the week) guys did very well for the last 1.5 hours of daylight. The biggest, a 12-lb, 13-oz beauty (on an electric scale). It's going home to be mounted. All of the 20-plus other fish that were caught earlier this evening went back into the water, including some dandies that neared 30-inches in length.

My brother had a solid red line show up on his Vex screen near dark, and enticed the fish to take his lure. He said it was a light thump, and when he set the hook, the pole bent, but didn't move. The fish made a couple of runs, as if pulling slowly on a line. When my brother tried to turn the fish, it broke the pole in three places. The hook came loose and the fish is somewhere thanking its Creator that it lives to swim another day. Could this have been one of the 18-plus pounders that inhabit the Bay? Only the good Lord knows.

We hope to make the trip again next year and write some new memories. To Skevy's, thanks ... you guys were awesome again. To Hardwater Walleye ... you are the best, and a true sportsman. Most importantly, though, a dear friend. Be safe all.

Hey Rocky Mountain Man, you guys caught more fish and had more fun than most of the people that live around here. I say it's great to see people on the Bay. The only other thing that I'd say to you is you are going to have to be a little more thicked skinned if you're gonna hang around here, and you're right about Hardwater too he's a class act. Gary

I think I've turned into a chatter box out there with all the guys around. I met guys from walkerton ,collingwood and ohio in two days its amazing, sharing stories of the bay and the history, you know I'm surprise that there is a lot of americans that know the bay like they do. They take there fishing serious man,I thought I did, but I guess if you come here to fish for the week you go out to fish. Its going to be really busy this weekend know dought about it.

Awesome to hear they got into fish. I bet the big one was a BIG BOQ CAT. Ive witnessed some giant cats over the past three years, if it snapped his rod I have no doubt either huge Walleye or Channel Cat.

.......... great post........... you guys did well.......... and thats the reason you keep returning, also to once again get together \with the friends you have made over the years fishing on the BOQ ........... As the assassin said. pays to have thick skin when posting this board  . was also nice to see the catcher say we are fishermen who know the bay even though we DONT live on the bay or even in Canada for that matter......... we do it for the love of the sport. who else would drop a grand, drive 300 miles , and sit in sub zero tempatures to catch fish........... maybe more should think about that............... its like a vacation to us, so having fun on your vacation is what its all about! . i guess thats just too hard for some to register. when they see a group of guys out on the ice having fun. they seem to pick on the negitive, and then bring it up here as well. we out of towners just naturlly get the bad rapp like every bag of garbage or pile of tim horton cups you see left on the ice or the parking lot must come form american people who could care less weather there is any ... walleye left in the bay when we leave for home ...... thats so very wrong to think that way, but it seems some just cant help showing there ignorance............. but as they always say one bad apple can spoil the bussel ........... i guess its true but thats not gonna stop me form saying hello. or sharring my thoughts, or giving up info to them who ask ..... and on that note i agree with martcoo.......... there is some damm big cats in that bay......... if i had to bet, my bet would go there. turning a cat with heavy pole, and line is hard to do in open water .almost impossible thru a 10 inch hole in the ice!
