Nice fish dude!
Quite the difference between Quinte eyes and Erie eyes eh? Same shape and size, just totally different colour. I gotta find a spot like yours....

Fishindude644, Good catch, I was out there Tuesday off of Crane creek. We were 4.3 miles off the park and really got into them. I think the ice is going fast though with this rain and wind. Bay of Quinte walleyes are much darker in color and in my opinion nicer looking, but they sure taste great. Thanks Skevy's for all the great reports this winter, you sure helped put a lot of guys on some great BOQ walleye fishing. Tom O

Hard to believe how pale those fish are. Is Erie that much clearer than Lake O?
On a side note I've caught fish north of 7, (haha) that are so emerald green. Beautiful fish.

Nice catch and release guys!!! ;)

The season changed from 6 to 4 fish today in ohio waters. They are staging up to go up the maumee river. they fish it hard when they come up the river and most fish are snagged. they should close the river down for march and april. so many fish get taken from foul hooking down there but they wont close it because of all the revenue from the crowds and all the tickets they get to write.

Teppy, we fish in 22 to 32 feet of water. I was in 24ft on Tues and 26ft on Wed. Swedish Pimples in silver and red tape was a hot color. Also white was good too.The season is now over though. We were fishing on 14 inches of good ice on Tues. and Wed. but high winds and tons of rain all day yesterday and today will wreak havoc on the ice and make it unsafe anywhere even if there is any left. The ice on Lake Erie off the mainland very rarely locks in so when we get strong offshore winds and rain, the ice breaks off the shore line and moves out. Every year, guys will go out in offshore winds and the ice breaks away and they have to be rescued by Coast Guard helicopters. I've seen guys fishing on 10 inches of ice one day and then open water with no ice in sight less then 24 hours later. I think we are done for the year as far as ice fishing, but if you can put a boat in the water in the next couple of weeks, the fishing is fantastic. You can use all the baits that you use for ice fishing and just jig for them from your boat in the same areas. I'll be back to BOQ next year because the fishery you have there is good too. Take care Tom

Thanks for the reply Tom O and the info, much appreciated even though I can`t see making the trek there next year unless I went with someone seasoned enough on the ice there. Its always nice to share info on places we don`t normally fish. 14 inches on erie....I never would of thought!!!
the winds can do the same kind of damage to the Quinte ice when it blows steady from the east/west.
Thanks again
teppy
