well there's always going to be people who love em or hate em, no different then ford trucks vs chevy. But the fact they have made an hour video promoting the product I doubt everything is staged or lie's. Funny tho, No yamaha video combatting the ETec one. hmmmm :wink:

It was cool watching that boat flip over. I did want to draw your attention to one big big detail. The test was kinda like comparing apples to oranges. They decided to compare the Etec 2 stroke to the Yamaha 4 stroke. The question that begs to be asked is why they didnt compare the Yamaha 2 stroke HPDI against the etec. You can bet they did and the etec lost otherwise they would of showed it. I'm pretty sure the Yamaha HPDI beat up the etec so they picked on the 4 stroke models.

My next motor will be an Optimax,next choice would be a Yammi HPDI. Both are great motors!!!

I have the 1 hour video and they do put the ETEC up against the Yamaha HPDI and the Verado in a drag race all 225hp all on exact same Ranger bass boats. Sorry to tell ya fellas but the ETEC took them all and not just by a bit but by a long ways. Unless it was rigged I don't know what to tell ya.

How do you argu with facts not just on paper but you can see it with your own eyes. I dunno maybe I missed something but they sure have me fooled. They have alot at stake in there claims and I don't think they can afford to B.S.

Why a Verado you ask because it's heavier and slower then the 225 Pro XS by Merc. They need to compare apples to apples. Unless they have a new test there was a big article in the Bass and Walleye Boats mag I saw that showed the Merc was the clear winner for top end and acceleration. But what would they know they are an independant company that all the do is test boats and motors.

I wonder why there are no video's from Mercury out there vs Etec maybe there are but no one has seem to come up with one. Anyway this could go on and on but fact remains Etec's are up with the best of them and better than most hats off to there low emition tec.
