Went out sunday morning for a few hours of fishing for bass. Decided to throw some early morning topwater while bass were jumping all around us. Turned out to be an empty netter approach as we couldnt get one to bite. The guy with me was throwing a buzzbait and I was throwing a pop r both of us zilch. Any advice welcome
Next we moved on to some points with deep weeds and did manage a few fish using tubes and worms aswell as a spinnerbait. It was slow and talking with a few boats on the water they said the same.
After lunch my son and his friend wanted to go out so I took them over to the north east shore of the haybay flats for a couple of hours. I have always found the pike and smaller bass are usually plentyful and perfect quarry for the kids. I was not disappointed. In the short time we were out the boys caught 12 pike a few bass and donated a few spinnerbaits to the pike gods.
