Quinte Fishing

K King and I when out on Thursday with Kevin from Merland Park. We put in at the ramp by the Ferry. It was in great condition, no ice.

The whole area is wide open, no ice, plenty space for trolling. We starting marking fish from top to bottom, not a ton like some days but certainly enough to make it interesting.

Picked up my first fish of the day, within 45 minutes, on a deep diving Husky Jerk (clown color). I had a lot of line out (6 lb Fire Line) as we were trolling with the big motor. Flatline, no planers. It was a 11.5 eye, K King did a great job with the net.

Spent the next hour fishless, until Kevin put us on a bunch. I slammed down a couple more beauties, all in the 11 - 12 lb range. K King was great scooping them with the net.

Then Kevin brought in a couple, the largest 12.5 lb. K King (aka Net Boy) did his job without a wimper of complaint.

I then set the hook on four more, all 10.5 to 12lb class. K King scooped them one by one from the cold waters of the county.

A great day fishing!! No rain, wide open ramp, slight chop on the water, full moon. (by the way, the wind was from the east). I guess my only complaint would be that my arms were being to hurt from cranking in all those big ladies.
