I was fishing a couple of years ago during the opening weekend with a friend that doesn't fish very much. He caught a pike and I took off his line for him....it was about a 5lber.
He asked me if they bite? Just as I finished the saying "no...I've never been biten!" the darn thing tuned it's head and grabbed me. I was laughing my head off (it didn't hurt) and my buddy had a terrified look on his face and was yelling "I'll hit it with the paddle...I'm going to hit it with the paddle!" while I was waiting for it to release my fingers.
It caused superficial cuts but like they do, it bled like a bugger. Til this day, he's terrified of catching a pike
I wish that was on video...even just the look on his face and frantic yelling he was doing.
