I was out fishing with a friend on Sunday Sept. 16th.

We didn't notice the pile of stone until the boat was in the water.
It looks like a VERY BIG BOAT was launched there and the water was to shallow for the boat... It looks like a
BIG boat snow plowed the bottom up into a BIG PILE as it was being backed into the water..
When the water is calm you can see a pile of stone.

Very big pain in the butt to load a bassboat..........

I told the girl at the canteen and another local guy about it, he also used the ramp.
They both said they will talk to someone from Town. Not sure if they did or not..

It's one thing that the water is low... But another to back a nice boat into a bank of stone..

If someone know who to call, could you please call them not much good the way it is now.
Please post if you have called for repairs, or post the contact information here so everyone can call them...

Thanks in advance

Dave

Yup
That would be the stuff that I bottomed out on as well. Luckily I have an older bass boat so I am just adding character to it but I would hate to see some guy show up in a brand new Ranger and scratch the heck out of the bottom.

The ramp in Napanee is great and it's not much farther to run from Deseronto. 8)

I haven't been there this year but its usually the same at the McFarland ramp. You can thank the power loaders for that.

Furious,
You're right the ramp in Hay Bay is a good one but they take out the dock too soon. It's rediculous to see it removed so early in the fall season.
I could understand end of October but not any sooner. I wouldn't be surprised if it's gone allready! It only takes a short amount of time for somone to remove it.
I was told it was because of the hunting season had started? I have been fishing when the dock was in placed only to return a few hours later to find the dock removed in late sept!...larry

Actually I meant the ones right in Napanee, by the bridge. They are good until ice up as there are no docks to remove, they are on the riverbank.

Hey all, I used the ramp today and it's no better!!!! It's a disgrace really i scraped my prop up a lil and another guy sheared his off, he was from michigan and it kinda sucks to come fishing all the way here an lose a prop like that.

Be careful out there as the water bein so low really doesnt help!

It's been a while since at Quinte ( 2 years to be exact) and was planning to come up within the next week to fish.
Was thinking about launching at Deseronto but after reading the posts am questioned it. I have a 14 inch Springbok with a 15. Would their still be a problem launching?
I remember that there used to be a launch under the bridge at Deseronto. Is it still open?
Also was looking at getting minnows. Is Moons still open at this time of year(noted that they have new owners)
Thanks

I, for one, am very jealous of your 14 inch Springbok.
It's nice that you have a proper name for something that magnificent.

Hello
New to this board, and about to be initiated to BoQ walleye trolling.
Heading that direction for the weeknd of Nov 16 & 17. Trialering a 15' popcan there from Hamilton. Planning on staying in Deseronto and using the public launch there. Just wondering if the launch is as bad as stated in this post, or if any repairs have been done? Any suggestions for a first timer to area would be appreciated. Are we gonna need waders to get the boat off and on the trailer?
thanks and cheers

Me and my brother out last Sat.,put in at Deseronto BIG pile of gravel about 10' at the start of ramp.I had no problems going out,it was coming in, about 50' from the dock I hit my prop on a pier?? I know it was hard it chewed my 3 blades about 3" and took a little chunk out of my sheg.Well $106.00 later and new prop I'm ready to roll.

mojo, the launch has a large dock there. my advise is to back in the boat let it float off and pull your rig to the end of the dock just to be safe. the water is low and this pile of shat at the launch is causing issues.

GL on the water.
