Fished the late afternoon and evening of the 28th, most of the day the 29th, and from 7am – 9am on the 30th out of Cedar Point Resort. Thanks John and Donna!
Fireman Dave and Fireman Nate and I caught 6 walleye and lost 3 others at boat (forgot the net). All fish caught in 10-13 feet just off the shallow weed at Sherman’s. We fed about 500 worms to the silver bass at Shermans, couldn’t keep the dam things off the hooks. Floating orange worm harnesses caught 5 and the 6th fish was on a silver black Shad Rap. No fish at Thompsons, Cement Plant, Mallory’s or Glen Island. Caught some nice largemouth working the weeds in Hay bay. Fireman Nate caught a trophy black crappy in Hay Bay too. First one I have ever seen caught in Quinte. Is this something new?
All in all weather was pretty good. Saturday got caught in some thunder, lightning and hail at Shermans. Thank goodness it blew through quickly. The walleye fishing was slow but perseverance paid off and we felt good that we caught a few nice fish. Won’t be back until May. Good luck to all and I hope the bite picks up!
