My cousin (adbatt) and I tried east of the ferry today for about 6 hours. We dragged cranks and spoons in lots of colours behind boards and dipsys. We covered the 20ft to 40ft range. Only thing we picked up was a perch that was smaller than the stretch 20+ it hit. HAHAHA

The bay was flat when we got out but a nice chop picked up in the aft. Water temp was 62 at the launch. Later in the day on the water it had climbed to 66.
A couple other boats were on the bay but didn't see anything landed.

We marked the odd fish while trolling but most were deep. We even tried jigging off Keith shoal. Marked a lot of fish between 20 and 35 ft just off the shoal . We tried a few passes over them but no takers.

Sun was hot and we both got fried. OUCH. Even had a bottle of sunscreen rolling around in the bottom of the boat.

We made a trip to West Marine in Kingston after we pulled the boat. We were there to actually check on floater suits for later in the year. The Girl working said she had some discontinued models from Mustang that she needed to get rid of. They are black and yellow Mustang Integrity 3/4 floater coats. They are normally $319.99 but we got them at 40% off. Mine came to $204 including taxes. I think I grabbed the last large. There are still a number of S, M, XL and XXL if anyone is interested.

Always glad ot hear of the news from that area.

Yes, Thursday was a fabulous day, weather wise- hard to believe it's October.

It will get cooler and the water should cool down and those fish will come.

Stay Tuned

We were out today (sunday) from 7:30 am - 10:30 am and tried the same area didn't manage a strike.

Marked all kinds of fish just off keiths shoal suspended from 30-50 feet but couldn't get anything to hit.

On our way back to the launch I saw about 5 boats just off youngs point, and I saw someone at the back of the boat with a rod and a net go over the side so I would have to assume they got one. It looked like they were in about 50 fow from the charts. Anybody been in that area?

I'm going out again tomorrow, and I think I'll try running out to the gap.
